The Telangana government has announced that the distribution of 1.05 crore newly sanctioned and laminated Public Distribution System (PDS) ration cards will begin across the state on August 15. The state-level launch will take place in Sangareddy, where the Chief Minister will formally inaugurate the programme. Simultaneously, distribution events will be held in all 119 Assembly constituencies under the supervision of Revenue Divisional Officers, district administrations and the Civil Supplies Department.
Since Independence Day celebrations will be held in the morning and the Chief Minister is scheduled to attend the Raj Bhavan "At Home" event in the evening, the government has fixed the ration card distribution between 2 PM and 4 PM. Officials have been instructed to complete beneficiary verification, printing, transportation, venue arrangements, registration, media coverage and submission of post-event reports to ensure the welfare programme is implemented efficiently for newly eligible families.
