CM Vijay Makes Sensational Allegations Against DMK

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay launched a sharp attack on the opposition DMK in the state Assembly, alleging that government contractors were required to pay bribes to the then government in instalments, similar to paying EMIs on bank loans. He said his allegations were based on details contained in documents cited by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). According to Vijay, the alleged bribes amounted to as much as 10 per cent of the contract value.

Vijay claimed that ED documents indicated that contractors were allegedly asked to pay between 7.5 per cent and 10 per cent in the name of party funds. He alleged that the money was collected for the party in power and pointed out that the DMK was in government at the time. Vijay further alleged that key leaders, including MK Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin, were direct beneficiaries of the alleged collections.
