Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid tribute to legendary balladeer Gaddar on his death anniversary, describing him as the iconic voice who inspired the Telangana statehood movement. He praised Gaddar as an extraordinary people's poet who kept the spirit of the movement alive through his songs and dedicated his life to the welfare of the poor and marginalized instead of pursuing a prestigious career.
The Chief Minister said Gaddar used music as a powerful tool to spread social awareness and worked tirelessly for the rights of the underprivileged throughout his life. He also recalled that the Telangana government instituted the Gaddar Film Awards to honour his contributions to art and culture and continues to officially observe both his birth and death anniversaries.
