CM Chandrababu reviews fuel shortage in Andhra Pradesh

N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the situation of petrol and diesel shortages in Andhra Pradesh following the closure of several fuel stations. Before leaving Mumbai for Amaravati on Sunday, the Chief Minister conducted a teleconference with Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and other senior officials. Authorities informed him that out of 4,510 fuel outlets in the state, around 421 have been shut due to supply shortages.

Officials explained that although supply has increased compared to previous days, panic buying led to a sudden spike in demand. On Saturday, petroleum companies supplied 10,345 kilolitres of petrol and 14,156 kilolitres of diesel, yet sales exceeded normal levels. Petrol sales rose from a usual 6,330 kilolitres to 8,489 kilolitres, while diesel sales increased from 9,048 kilolitres to 10,556 kilolitres. The Chief Minister directed officials to take immediate measures to ease public inconvenience and instructed district collectors and fisheries department authorities to address bulk fuel purchases in the aquaculture sector. He also asked for a detailed report by evening on steps taken to resolve the issue.
