Clarity on Cancellation of Class 10 Exams

Amid widespread speculation on social media about the cancellation of SSC board exams, the Telangana government has issued a clarification to ease concerns among students and parents. Officials stated that no proposal has been made to cancel the Class 10 board examinations from the 2026–27 academic year. Dr. Zeenath dismissed the rumours, confirming that the commission’s report does not recommend scrapping SSC exams. Instead, the panel suggested merging the SSC and Intermediate boards and proposed cancelling only the Class 11 public examinations as part of broader reforms.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for comprehensive changes in the education system aligned with national standards. He clarified that the committee’s report is not final and that the government will take a considered decision after reviewing all recommendations. The reforms aim to strengthen the +2 system and bring Telangana’s education sector in line with international benchmarks. In a separate development, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the state budget, which the CM described as welfare and development-oriented, while also criticizing opposition leaders over their protest in the Assembly.
