The investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak scam has gathered pace, with the Central Bureau of Investigation arresting five individuals and detaining nearly two dozen suspects so far. The agency conducted raids across multiple locations in the country and seized several digital devices, mobile phones, and laptops for forensic examination. Among those arrested are Mangilal Bival, Vikas Bival, and Dinesh Bival from Jaipur, Yash Yadav from Gurugram, and Shubham Khairnar from Nashik. Khairnar has been shifted to Delhi for further questioning. One accused alleged that influential figures were being protected while ordinary individuals were being harassed during the investigation.
Following allegations of a question paper leak in Rajasthan, the National Testing Agency cancelled the examination nationwide and announced a re-test for nearly 23 lakh students. Investigators revealed that a password-protected PDF circulated as a “guess paper” through social media groups reached several students in Rajasthan. Police teams questioned over 150 students across Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, and Jaipur districts. Authorities suspect the paper was printed in Nashik before being leaked through multiple channels. Meanwhile, political controversy intensified after former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleged that one of the accused was linked to the BJP. Student organisations including NSUI and ABVP staged protests demanding accountability and reforms in the examination system.
