Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani have received major relief in the US legal case concerning alleged bribery linked to solar power contracts in India. The case, filed in 2024, accused the Adani Group of allegedly conspiring to pay around $250 million in bribes to Indian government officials to secure solar power contracts and of concealing the alleged payments from US investors.
The US Department of Justice later withdrew the prosecution, maintaining that the matter did not fall within the scope of US law. While prosecutors can choose not to pursue a case, charges technically remain pending until a judge formally approves the dismissal. With the court now issuing its ruling, the proceedings against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani have effectively come to an end, providing significant legal relief to both.
