Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh said the state has regained the confidence of global investors and is now emerging as their preferred investment destination. Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony for Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited's hybrid clean energy project near Pattikonda in Kurnool district, Lokesh said global investment firms such as Brookfield, Blackstone, BlackRock, EQT and TPG, along with leading Indian companies including Tata Power, Suzlon, ReNew, Premier Energies, ACME and Waaree, are expanding their presence in Andhra Pradesh. He added that the state's renewable energy capacity has grown by 400 percent over the past year, reflecting renewed investor confidence.
Highlighting the state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh aims to develop 160 GW of clean energy capacity and build a complete clean energy ecosystem covering solar modules, battery manufacturing, green hydrogen, green ammonia, transmission infrastructure and energy storage. He described the ₹5,750-crore Tata Power Renewable Energy project as a milestone in achieving this vision. The 800 MW hybrid project, comprising 400 MW of solar power in Pattikonda and 400 MW of wind power in Kanekal, is expected to create around 4,000 jobs during construction and provide stable lease income to more than 1,100 farming families across over 3,400 acres for nearly three decades.
