Andhra Pradesh Emerging as an Investment Hub

Andhra Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for global investors, said State Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh while laying the foundation stone for Tata Power Renewable Energy's green energy projects. The ₹5,750-crore initiative includes a 400 MW solar power project at Hosur in Kurnool district and a 400 MW wind power project at Kanekal in Anantapur district, developed in association with Suzlon. The combined 800 MW project is expected to generate employment for 1,200 people and provide lease income to nearly 1,100 farmers for the next 30 years.

Lokesh said leading global investment firms and major Indian companies are expanding their presence in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting growing investor confidence. He reiterated the government's goal of producing 15,000 MW of renewable energy annually and positioning the state as India's clean energy leader. Andhra Pradesh also aims to become a major export hub for green hydrogen and green ammonia to Europe, Japan and South Korea. Tata Power CEO Praveer Sinha said the solar project would be completed within 12 months and the wind project within 24 months.
