The Andhra Pradesh government is taking major steps to improve healthcare services in government hospitals by introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI). As part of this initiative, 18 startup companies have been selected to test various AI-based services across 18 locations under pilot projects. These technologies can record doctor-patient conversations and generate treatment summaries instantly.
AI tools are also being used to detect diseases such as tuberculosis through cough analysis, identify heart conditions and anemia early, and assist in cervical cancer treatment using AI-powered cameras. Pilot projects are currently underway in cities like Visakhapatnam, Anantapur, Guntur, Kakinada, and Vijayawada. The initiative is being implemented under the “AP MedTech Innovation Challenge” and monitored by the CATH committee.
