The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) door-to-door survey of voters in Andhra Pradesh has been completed, leading to discussions over a large number of voter names being removed from the electoral rolls. According to the latest figures, around 44.71 lakh voter entries were identified for deletion by Friday evening. The draft voter list is scheduled to be released on August 30.
The voter revision process aims to update electoral records by removing ineligible entries and ensuring accuracy in voter lists. However, the number of deletions may rise further before the final draft is prepared. Political parties and voters are expected to closely examine the draft list once it is released.
