Delhi Police have reportedly used facial recognition technology to analyze visuals from the Jantar Mantar student protest and identify individuals with criminal backgrounds. The system helped authorities collect details of thousands of people who were present during the demonstration.
According to reports, around 989 identified individuals have serious criminal cases registered against them, including murder and sexual assault-related cases. Police are now examining whether any of these persons had any role in creating disturbances or attempting to disrupt the protest.
