Thirteen Indian seafarers are stranded aboard a merchant cargo vessel at Chornomorsk Port on Ukraine’s Black Sea coast as Russian drone and missile attacks intensify in the region. The ship has a total crew of 15, including 13 Indian nationals, who are unable to leave due to escalating security threats and ongoing conflict conditions.
The situation has raised serious concerns over the safety of the crew, as continuous attacks target Ukraine’s key port infrastructure. The incident comes amid renewed assaults on commercial shipping routes in the Black Sea, disrupting maritime operations. Indian authorities are closely monitoring developments and are in constant contact with concerned agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of the stranded sailors.
