Vedanta Targets Major Production Expansion

Vedanta has announced a major rebranding of its copper and nickel businesses. All copper-related operations, including Sterlite Copper, Fujairah Gold, and Vedanta Copper International (VCI), will now operate under the unified brand Vedanta Copper. The nickel business has been renamed Vedanta Nickel, focusing on building a domestic nickel ecosystem and supporting critical mineral demand in India.

Vedanta Copper aims to reach an annual production capacity of 460 KTPA by next year, while Vedanta Nickel targets expansion from 7 KTPA to 60 KTPA. CEO Puneet Khurana stated that unifying the businesses under stronger identities will help drive sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
