

Global memory chipmaker Micron Technology has announced a record bonus package for workers at its Taiwan plant. According to a Reuters report, the company has set a minimum cash compensation of more than ₹45 lakh (NT$1.7 million) for employees, amid union strike warnings and expectations of growth in the global chip market. The bonus package is equivalent to 35 to 68 months of salary, making it a significant employee payout.
Employees who joined the company on or before August 29, 2025, will also receive an additional special bonus of ₹26 lakh (NT$1 million). The announcement comes amid growing tensions over potential industrial action by unions. Micron’s decision highlights the company’s efforts to retain and motivate its workforce as demand and growth prospects in the global semiconductor industry remain strong.
