Indian Stock Markets End Higher

Indian stock markets, which opened on a flat note this morning, ended the trading session with modest gains. The Sensex rose 138.37 points, or 0.19%, to close at 74,902.59, while the Nifty gained 46.30 points, or 0.20%, to settle at 23,477.80.

Swan Corp Ltd, Acuitas Chemicals Ltd and Welspun Corp Ltd emerged among the top gainers. On the other hand, Sai Life Sciences Ltd, Tejas Networks Ltd and New India Assurance Company Ltd featured among the major laggards. The market ended higher despite a largely subdued start to the session.
