Bharat Biotech, through its subsidiary Nucelion Therapeutics, has partnered with Hyderabad-based precision oncology company Vizen Bio Private Limited to advance innovative cell therapies in India. Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on technology transfer, clinical manufacturing and commercial production of cell-based therapies. Nucelion Therapeutics specialises in contract research, development and manufacturing for cell and gene therapies, while the partnership aims to strengthen India’s capabilities in advanced cancer treatment.
As part of the collaboration, Nucelion will support the technology transfer and commercial manufacturing of Vizen Bio’s VL-2511 CAR-T therapy, which is being developed for advanced cancer treatment. The companies also plan to conduct Phase I and Phase II clinical trials in India, subject to the required regulatory approvals. They aim to bring the therapy to the market by 2028, depending on clinical outcomes and regulatory clearances. Nucelion is planning to manufacture the treatment at its specialised facility in Hyderabad, potentially expanding access to advanced cell therapy treatments in the country.
