Reliance Industries Limited and Meta have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen India’s position in AI powered digital infrastructure. As part of the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop a state of the art AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
The facility will have a capacity of 168 megawatts and is expected to be developed over the next two years. It will be the first build to suit data center in India designed specifically to meet Meta’s operational and computing requirements.
Under the agreement, Reliance will handle the construction, operations, power supply, network connectivity, utility services, and overall management of the facility. Meta will use the computing capacity on a long term lease basis to support its global digital platforms, AI applications, and large scale data processing needs.
