In a unique development, leading jewellery retailer Jose Alukkas has reportedly secured the tender to supply 1-gram gold rings for eligible newborn babies under a TVK government scheme. The company won the tender after quoting a symbolic price of just 1 paisa towards the cost of the gold rings.

Under the initiative, eligible babies born in government hospitals will receive a 1-gram gold ring. The welfare scheme aims to support newborns and mark the arrival of every eligible child with a special gift.
