Wikipedia has updated its content policy, taking a strong stand against the use of artificial intelligence-generated text in articles. The platform has clearly stated that large language models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and others cannot be used to generate or rewrite article content, as it may violate core policies related to accuracy, neutrality, and verifiability.
However, Wikipedia has allowed limited use of such tools under strict conditions. Editors can use AI for minor copy edits and for translating content into English, but only with proper human review and caution. The platform emphasized that AI-generated content may lead to inaccuracies due to hallucinations, and this move aims to maintain the credibility and authenticity of information shared on the website.
