A national public conference on AI data centers is scheduled to be held on Sunday at the Alluri Sitarama Raju Vignana Kendram in Visakhapatnam. Green Visakha representatives said the conference will discuss concerns surrounding the proposed development of large-scale data centers in and around the city, including their potential impact on the environment, water resources and local communities.
The organizers said experts, environmentalists, social activists and representatives from different regions will participate in the discussions. Issues including water consumption, employment opportunities, pollution and international experiences with data centers will be examined. Based on the views and suggestions shared at the event, the organizers plan to announce a “Visakhapatnam Declaration” on AI data centers and urged people to attend the conference in large numbers.
