Meta has already started reducing nearly 10 percent of its workforce, creating uncertainty among employees worldwide. Amid reports suggesting more layoffs could happen later this year, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly sent an internal email to employees clarifying that there may not be additional job cuts in 2026. His statement has now become a major topic of discussion in the tech industry.
Zuckerberg said that artificial intelligence will become one of the most impactful technologies in human life and companies that adopt it quickly will lead the future. At the same time, he admitted that saying goodbye to employees is always painful. Reports also revealed that some employees in the US, Europe, and Singapore received layoff emails shortly after being allowed to work from home. Employees in the US are expected to receive 16 weeks of base pay, additional compensation based on years of service, and 18 months of healthcare coverage.
