Google Offers Eligible College Students Free AI Subscription for One Year

Google is expanding its AI-powered learning tools for college students by launching a dedicated student hub and offering eligible students a free one-year subscription to its AI plans. The new hub, accessible through Gemini and Google Search, is designed to help students organise their studies, create study notebooks, generate flashcards, take practice quizzes and explore other AI-powered learning resources. In the US, eligible college students will receive Google AI Pro free for one year, a plan normally priced at $19.99 per month. The package includes higher Gemini usage limits, Gemini features across Google apps, 5TB of storage and other AI services.

For students outside the US, including India, Google is offering a free one-year subscription to Google AI Plus. In India, the plan is normally priced at Rs 399 per month, or Rs 4,788 for 12 months at the monthly rate. Google is also introducing interactive study features designed to make learning more engaging. Study notebooks can create personalised lessons based on a student’s strengths and knowledge gaps, while interactive visualisations can generate tables, grids and 3D simulations to explain complex subjects. Gemini Live also enables students to discuss problems conversationally and study using materials stored in Google Drive.
