To provide users with more transparency, X has introduced and expanded its ‘Under the Hood’ feature, which allows eligible users to check information about restrictions placed on their posts.

According to the information provided about the feature, users can check restrictions imposed on their posts during the previous month. On the web, users can access the relevant ‘Under the Hood’ page on X. On the app, they can open the profile icon, go to ‘Settings and Privacy’, select ‘Your Account’ and then choose ‘Under the Hood’ to access the previous month’s report. The feature is reportedly available only to eligible accounts, including accounts that were created at least a year earlier and users who published at least 10 posts during the previous month.

The feature is part of X’s broader transparency efforts around content restrictions. X says that content may be withheld in a specific country when it receives a valid legal demand, and affected users may be notified unless the company is legally prohibited from doing so. At the same time, X notes that reduced post reach can have several other causes, including policy enforcement, user controls, experiments and technical or quality related issues.
