Bengaluru based space start up GalaxEye successfully launched its ‘Mission Drishti’ satellite on Sunday aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket from California. This marks a significant milestone for the Indian private space sector, highlighting its growing capabilities in advanced satellite technology.
Mission Drishti is the world’s first OptoSAR satellite, combining electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors into a single operational platform. This integration enables the satellite to deliver comprehensive imaging data under diverse environmental conditions.
While EO sensors capture high resolution images during daylight and clear weather, SAR sensors use radar pulses to provide images regardless of weather or time. This dual capability ensures continuous and reliable Earth observation for various applications.
