Women’s Andhra Premier League: Amaravati Champions Make It Two in a Row

Amaravati Champions continued their impressive run in the Women’s Andhra Premier League, registering their second consecutive victory. They defeated Rayalaseema Gen Stars by seven runs in a closely fought contest. Batting first, Amaravati posted 163/3 in 20 overs, with Rangarakshmi scoring 50 off 44 balls, Deeksha Katragadda making a quick 48 off 22 deliveries and captain Anusha Neeragattu contributing 46. Rangarakshmi and Anusha added 96 runs for the opening wicket. During the chase, Rayalaseema reached 123/3 at one stage, but Sai Poojitha changed the game by claiming the tournament’s first hat-trick. Devika also bowled economically as Rayalaseema finished on 156/9. Deeksha was named Player of the Match.

In another match, Godavari Golden Eagles defeated Vizag Fire Birds by 10 runs. Godavari scored 134/9 after being put in to bat, with Hernita Flavia Perera top-scoring with 61 off 46 balls. Sai Tanmayi and Rishika Krishnan picked up three wickets each for Vizag. In the chase, Akshaya Vadde led the bowling attack with 3/16, while the rest of the Godavari bowlers also kept the pressure on. Vizag Fire Birds managed 124/6 in their 20 overs, with Sarayu and Ayesha Singh scoring 34 runs each.
