A heated altercation broke out during the ODI tri-series match between India and Sri Lanka A teams, drawing significant attention. Following the match, young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi got into a verbal spat with Sri Lankan players, which escalated into a physical confrontation. Losing his composure in the heat of the moment, Vaibhav pushed a Sri Lankan player before teammates and officials intervened to diffuse the situation. The incident quickly went viral, raising concerns over player conduct.
Physical aggression on the field is against ICC regulations, and speculation grew about possible disciplinary action from the BCCI. However, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia dismissed such reports, confirming that no action will be taken against Vaibhav. He emphasized that the team is focused on the ongoing tournament and expressed confidence in the youngster’s form, stating that he is expected to replicate his IPL performance. In the tri-series featuring India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan, the 15-year-old has scored 14, 44, and 21 runs so far.
