Bangladesh registered a commanding 86-run victory over Australia in the first ODI held in Dhaka. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 284/8 in 50 overs, with solid contributions from Tanzid Hasan (54) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (67). The highlight of the innings was Mosaddek Hossain, who played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 86 off 70 balls, helping Bangladesh reach a competitive total. Taskin Ahmed also added a quick 20 runs in the end.
Chasing a revised DLS target of 278 in 42.2 overs, Australia faltered and were bowled out for 191/9. Nathan Ellis took three wickets, while Liam Scott and Matt Renshaw picked up two wickets each, and Xavier Bartlett claimed one. However, the Australian batting lineup failed to build partnerships, giving Bangladesh a strong 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
