Tadepalli:
The recent controversy surrounding the comments made by MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna about megastar Chiranjeevi in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly has stirred quite a storm — both in political circles and among fans.
It all began when BJP MLA Kamineni Srinivas raised the issue of how film celebrities were allegedly insulted during the YSRCP regime. Balakrishna took it a step further, making some sharp remarks about Chiranjeevi, which quickly went viral and sparked widespread criticism.
Now, former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally reacted to the episode, and his response has added fresh fuel to the debate.
When asked by a reporter about Balakrishna’s remarks and Pawan Kalyan’s silence over the issue, Jagan didn’t hold back.
“What was he supposed to talk about in the Assembly, and what did he actually say? It was a useless conversation,” Jagan said. “Balakrishna spoke in the Assembly while drunk — how did they even allow someone in that state inside? The Speaker clearly showed poor judgment by letting it happen. You could tell Balakrishna’s mental condition from the way he spoke. He should probably question his own psychological state after that.”
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi had already issued a calm and dignified statement soon after Balakrishna’s remarks. He clarified that no one from the film industry was ever disrespected during Jagan’s tenure and added that the then Chief Minister had always treated him with warmth and respect.
