Vijay is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7, with reports suggesting that around 20 ministers may take oath alongside him. His party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has emerged as the single largest party, breaking the decades-long dominance of Dravidian majors. However, with no clear majority, support from alliance partners has become crucial for government formation.
Parties such as Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Pattali Makkal Katchi, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi are expected to be part of the government, each likely to receive ministerial representation. Vijay’s strategy focuses on inclusive governance by accommodating allies within the cabinet rather than relying solely on external support. By doing so, he aims to deliver stable administration and mark a historic shift in Tamil Nadu politics, moving beyond the long-standing influence of DMK and AIADMK.
