Vijay, leader of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, stated that since entering politics, he has received immense love and support from the people of Tamil Nadu. He said he decided to contest the Assembly elections with the belief that he and the Tamil people are inseparable.
Speaking at a party organisers’ meeting in Vellore on Monday, Vijay became emotional, alleging that attempts were being made to distance him from the people. He referred to Chief Minister M. K. Stalin accusing him of being responsible for the Karur stampede incident.
Vijay described the upcoming Assembly elections as a battle between the people of Tamil Nadu and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He further stated that it would be a direct political contest between himself and Stalin.
