Police in Thiruvananthapuram have registered cases against Congress MLA Ramya Haridas and several party workers following a late-night clash at the residence of a Congress worker. Both sides have accused each other of assault, with Haridas alleging that she was manhandled by local Congress workers during the confrontation.
The incident has reportedly caused embarrassment to the Congress leadership. Haridas, a former MP, currently represents the Chirayinkeezhu constituency as an MLA. Police have registered a case against 15 Congress workers, including seven individuals identified by Haridas, while her account of what happened inside the house has been disputed by some party workers.
