Targeting KCR’s Family Is Revanth’s Agenda: Sabitha

Former minister and BRS MLA P Sabitha Indra Reddy strongly criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at a press conference held at Telangana Bhavan. She alleged that the Chief Minister had used valuable Assembly time to raise personal issues and claimed that targeting the KCR family had become his primary political agenda. She said lakhs of families were living in fear over the 22A issue but alleged that the government had failed to provide them relief. Sabitha also referred to the Chief Minister’s remarks on former CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s properties and said that if details of BRS leaders’ properties were required, they could have provided them themselves.

Sabitha questioned why the Chief Minister had not expressed regret over the alleged humiliation of women BRS legislators during the recent confrontation outside the Assembly. She said they had expected the issue to be discussed in the House and for an apology to be offered. She also questioned the cases registered against BRS legislators and MLCs following the incident. Sabitha defended her political record, recalled her association with the Congress and questioned Revanth Reddy’s comments regarding her son Karthik Reddy’s political ticket. She also challenged him on the issue of defections and demanded an inquiry into the Thimmapur Bhudan lands. On development projects, she said the BRS was not opposed to the bullet train but insisted that farmers’ lands should not be forcibly acquired. Recalling welfare schemes introduced during KCR’s tenure, she urged Revanth Reddy to respect KCR’s age and political experience and behave in accordance with the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office. The recent Assembly confrontation has also led BRS women legislators to lodge complaints alleging police mistreatment.
