Strongly Countered BRS Propaganda, Says Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the Congress government had strongly countered the Opposition’s alleged conspiracies and propaganda and successfully taken its development and welfare initiatives of the past 1,000 days to the people. Addressing the CLP meeting at the Assembly, he urged MLAs and MLCs to maintain the same momentum and remain vigilant against attempts to mislead the public. Revanth said a flash survey conducted after the developments of the past three days showed that people were critical of the BRS’s conduct, while the Congress had a positive image among the public. He also dismissed the BRS claim that one crore acres were under the 22-A list, stating that the actual figure was 3.06 lakh acres. He asked MLAs to focus on protecting voters’ rights amid concerns over the SIR process.

Revanth Reddy criticised BRS leaders for allegedly behaving inappropriately with government officials and humiliating women officials, besides making objectionable remarks against the Speaker and insulting Dalits. He said investigations were underway into the incidents and urged MLAs to attend Assembly proceedings regularly and raise issues concerning their constituencies. He also called for pressure on the Centre to conduct a caste census based on the Telangana model. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Opposition’s conspiracies could be defeated through unity and asked party leaders to take the government’s welfare, education and healthcare initiatives to every household. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud raised concerns over the SIR process, while Minister G. Vivek clarified that bringing polytechnics under the Skills University would not cause any loss to students.
