Ahead of the Assembly sessions commencing today, BJP Legislature Party (BJLP) leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy made strong remarks regarding the political situation in the state. He stated that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which is expected to function as the main opposition, has failed to effectively perform its role. He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently acting as the primary opposition in the state. Speaking to the media, he also launched sharp criticism against the Indian National Congress government.
Maheshwar Reddy said the BJP would raise key issues in the Assembly, including farmers’ problems, alleged shortcomings in the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme and the status of the government’s six guarantees. He also criticized the state government over the Musi River restoration project, claiming that while people in Gujarat voluntarily supported the development of the Sabarmati Riverfront, houses of poor residents are being demolished in Telangana in the name of the Musi rejuvenation project.
He further alleged that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated and that drugs are widely available, accusing the government of remaining indifferent to the issue. Maheshwar Reddy expressed confidence that while the BRS has lagged behind in challenging the government in the Assembly, the BJP will firmly stand for the people and raise their concerns.
