

President Droupadi Murmu stated that Public Service Commissions should respond more swiftly and efficiently in matters related to recruitment. She was speaking at the National Conference of Public Service Commissions Chairpersons, held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
She recalled that the establishment of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and State Public Service Commissions began after 1950, and noted that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar played a key role in shaping these institutions.
The President emphasized that the challenges currently faced in the recruitment process require quick and effective solutions. She advised the commissions to give top priority to transparency at every stage in order to strengthen candidates’ trust. She also expressed that adherence to timelines and a fair selection process would further reinforce the democratic system.
