SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi is reportedly exploring a different strategy for its digital streaming rights. According to reports, discussions with Netflix over the OTT rights resulted in a difference of around Rs. 100 crore. Following this, the makers are said to be considering an alternative to selling all the digital rights to a single streaming platform.
Under the reported plan, the OTT rights may be divided into three separate packages: one covering South Indian languages, another for Hindi, and a third for international markets. This approach is believed to have the potential to generate higher revenue from the film’s digital rights. However, the proposed strategy and the reported negotiations have not been officially confirmed.
