Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan showcased his compassion for farmers by personally visiting cyclone-affected areas in Krishna district on Thursday. Touring the Avanigadda constituency, Pawan walked through waterlogged fields in Krishnapuram village of Koduru mandal to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains and cyclonic winds. Despite the mud and slush, he reached the middle of the fields, interacted with farmers, and listened patiently to their grievances. He assured them that the state government will extend full support and help all affected farmers recover their losses.
Pawan noted that proactive measures by the government prevented any major loss of life, though crops and houses were badly damaged. He said relief operations and damage assessments are already underway. Later, he visited the Avanigadda Sub-Station, where he observed a photo exhibition showcasing cyclone impact visuals. He also held discussions with District Collector Balaji to review the extent of agricultural and infrastructure damage. Speaking to the media, Pawan stated, “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and all ministers have been constantly monitoring the situation in cyclone-hit areas. While lives were saved, the government is determined to ensure fair compensation for crop and property losses.” Currently, the enumeration process to assess damages has begun, and Pawan assured that every affected farmer will receive justice and support.
The visuals of Pawan Kalyan walking barefoot in the muddy fields to comfort farmers have since gone viral, earning widespread appreciation.
