An incident occurred during Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s visit to Musalimadugu, Chittoor district, on Saturday. The leader was in the area to inaugurate the Kunkie Elephant Training Centre, when a woman was injured amid the large crowd gathered to see him.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman — who had come to catch a glimpse of the actor-turned-politician — fell during a commotion as Pawan Kalyan’s convoy passed through a crowded lane. Locals initially claimed that one of the vehicles in the convoy ran over her foot, causing a fracture.
She was immediately shifted to the Palamaner Government Hospital, where doctors confirmed she sustained a minor injury to her left leg.
Later, Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar clarified that there was no direct contact between Pawan Kalyan’s vehicle and the woman, stating that the injury occurred due to the crowd pushing and shoving. However, several onlookers insist the vehicles came too close to the crowd, raising questions about poor crowd management and security arrangements during the minister’s visit.
The injured woman is currently stable and receiving treatment. Locals have urged authorities to ensure better safety measures in future political events to prevent such accidents.
