Forgot Their Own History?.. Union Minister Kishan Reddy Slams Priyanka Gandhi Over Remarks

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy strongly criticized Priyanka Gandhi over her remarks in the Lok Sabha, where she questioned the alleged harassment of students by police near Jantar Mantar and referred to the NEET paper leak, claiming it drove several students to suicide. Responding sharply, Kishan Reddy said that before raising such questions, the Congress leader should revisit her party’s own history.

He recalled that during the 1969 Telangana movement, 369 students were killed in police firing under a Congress government, questioning whether they were treated as terrorists. He also pointed to the second phase of the Telangana movement, stating that delays and betrayals by Congress led to the deaths of nearly 1,200 students and youth. He further cited the Emergency period, alleging that thousands of protesting students were jailed and suppressed. Kishan Reddy accused Congress of remembering rights and history only when out of power and urged Priyanka Gandhi to understand facts before making statements.
