Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh strongly refuted allegations that he attended the India–Pakistan cricket match using government funds. Certain media outlets affiliated with the YSR Congress Party claimed that despite the state being in deep financial distress, Lokesh had allegedly spent over Rs 1 crore of public money for the match. Responding to the controversy, the minister dismissed the accusations as baseless propaganda.
Taking to social media platform X, Lokesh clarified that he personally bore the expenses for both his flight and match tickets. In a sharp response aimed at YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, he stated that he watched the match using his own money and questioned whether he had spent any of Jagan’s funds. His remarks have intensified the ongoing political exchange between the ruling government and the opposition party.
