Delhi SIR: Arvind Kejriwal and Family Members Receive Notices Over Voter Roll Verification

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, along with his wife Sunita Kejriwal, son Pulkit Kejriwal and parents Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi, have received notices from the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer’s office as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Election officials said the notices were issued because the family’s details could not be mapped to the previous SIR electoral roll. Their names, however, remain in the draft electoral roll and are to be verified through the prescribed process.

The development has triggered a political exchange, with the Aam Aadmi Party questioning why the former chief minister and his family had been flagged for verification. The Election Registration Officer clarified that the notices do not mean the names have been deleted and that the entries will be validated after the required documents and details are verified. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was also among those issued a notice, but officials later said her electoral details had been verified. The final electoral roll for the New Delhi constituency is scheduled to be published on November 4, 2026.
