Speculation over a possible Union Cabinet reshuffle has intensified following a series of political developments in New Delhi. Discussions gained momentum after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan following the Padma Awards ceremony. The meeting, along with recent organizational changes within the BJP, has fueled expectations of an imminent restructuring of the Union Council of Ministers.
Several ministers who have recently been assigned key party responsibilities in different states are reportedly likely to step down from their ministerial positions. Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian resigned after the completion of his Rajya Sabha tenure, and his resignation was promptly accepted by the President. Political observers are also watching developments involving ministers Ravneet Singh Bittu, Harsh Malhotra, and Pankaj Chaudhary, who may take on larger party roles. Punjab is expected to receive significant representation in any expansion, with names such as Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Satnam Singh Sandhu, and Sunil Jakhar being discussed in political circles. Reports also suggest that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan could face scrutiny following criticism over the NEET-UG controversy, though no official announcement has been made.
