Agriculture Ministry Marketing Officer Anurag Suspended Over Bribery Complaint

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered the immediate suspension of marketing officer Anurag following a complaint alleging that he sought a bribe from warehouse operators in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district. According to reports, the allegations were linked to the release of subsidy funds. The complaint was brought to the minister’s attention, following which action was ordered against the official.

Reports state that Anurag allegedly demanded ₹1 lakh from one warehouse and ₹60,000 from another in connection with the release of subsidy payments. The allegations are being reported as complaints against the official, and the suspension follows the receipt of those complaints. The development comes as the Agriculture Ministry has been emphasizing transparency and timely grievance redressal in matters concerning farmers and agricultural schemes.
