Freedom 251 Scam Inspires New OTT Thriller

The controversial Freedom 251 smartphone scam, which promised smartphones for just ₹251 and later turned out to be a massive fraud, is now being adapted into a Telugu web series. Titled Azaadi 501, the crime thriller is directed by Shivateja and will begin streaming on Aha from July 29. The recently released poster suggests that the series explores the events surrounding the widely discussed scam through a suspense-driven narrative.

The series does not feature any major stars, with the makers focusing instead on the story and its realistic presentation. Alongside Azaadi 501, only a few dubbed films and web series, including Pallichattambi, Con City, Musafir Cafe, and Adarsh Balavidyalaya, are expected to arrive on OTT platforms this week, making this thriller one of the notable Telugu digital releases.
