‘Naa Wife Missing’ on Aha: Does the Telugu Thriller Deliver?

Crime thrillers built around missing-person cases, murder mysteries and unexpected twists continue to attract OTT audiences. Telugu thriller Naa Wife Missing, starring Varun Sandesh and Swetha Basu Prasad, is drawing attention following its streaming release on Aha on October 22. Directed by Swathi Prakash Mantripragada, the film follows Balu and Swapna, whose married life takes an unexpected turn when Swapna goes missing. Balu approaches the police for help, but suspicion soon falls on him, raising questions about what really happened to his wife and whether he is hiding something.

The story explores marital conflicts, Swapna’s past relationship with Aban and the investigation into her disappearance. The first half focuses on the couple’s relationship and the circumstances leading to the mystery, while a twist around the interval builds curiosity about the second half. The investigation and search for Swapna move the plot forward, although the pacing slows down in some places. Varun Sandesh delivers a natural performance as Balu, conveying his character’s anxiety and emotional struggles. Swetha Basu Prasad as Swapna and Mohit Pedada as Aban also contribute to the story. The film may appeal to viewers who enjoy suspense-driven stories, despite some narrative shortcomings.
