Director Karthik Subbaraj’s 10th film, Dorothy, is now streaming on Netflix, giving the movie an opportunity to reach a wider audience after its theatrical run. The film, starring Keerthy Suresh, Rishikanth and Sananth in lead roles, received critical acclaim following its theatrical release but reportedly fell short of the expected box-office collections. To make the film accessible to more viewers, Netflix has released it in five Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The availability of multiple language versions could help the film connect with audiences across different regions and attract viewers who missed it in theatres.
Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja composed the music for Dorothy, which reportedly received a standing ovation at TIFF 2026. The film was backed by Sikhya Entertainment, Dhammam Films and Jio Studios. With its digital release, attention has now shifted to whether Dorothy can find a larger audience and receive the appreciation it did not achieve commercially during its theatrical run. Its performance on Netflix will be closely watched by fans of Karthik Subbaraj, Keerthy Suresh and Ilaiyaraaja.
