Andhra Pradesh continues to strengthen its position in India’s renewable-energy manufacturing sector with the approval of a major greenfield investment by Websol Renewable Private Limited. The company will establish an integrated 8 GW solar manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Tirupati district.
The project involves an investment of ₹3,538 crore and is expected to generate direct employment for nearly 2,000 people. Spread across 120 acres, the facility will be developed in two phases, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in July 2027 and July 2028.
The unit will include manufacturing capacities of 4 GW each for solar cells and solar modules. To ensure sustainable and cost-efficient operations, the state government has facilitated land for a dedicated captive solar power plant, while the company has also committed to setting up a 100 MW captive solar energy unit.
With multiple large-scale solar projects coming up in and around Naidupeta, the region is fast emerging as a key solar manufacturing hub in South India. The growing industrial cluster is expected to create strong supply chains, skilled employment opportunities and export-oriented clean-energy growth.
State officials highlighted that the project has been approved under Andhra Pradesh’s latest industrial policy, reinforcing the state’s ambition to become a national leader in renewable-energy manufacturing and green jobs.
