The United States has announced exemptions for India under the trade deal on certain agricultural imports, according to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. He stated that discussions with India will continue regarding broader access to the agricultural sector, signalling ongoing negotiations between the two countries.
As part of the agreement, tariffs on select products—including certain varieties of grains, wine, spirits, fruits, and vegetables—will be reduced from 13.5 percent to zero. The move is expected to ease trade flows and strengthen bilateral trade relations between India and the United States.
