The United Kingdom government has decided to increase visa and immigration fees, with charges rising by up to 25% from the current 6%. These new fees will take effect from April 8 and will apply to visitor, student, work, settlement and citizenship applications.
This hike means applicants will have to pay more for various visa categories, but experts say the impact on Indians planning to study, work, or settle in the UK is expected to be moderate. While the increase adds financial pressure, it is unlikely to significantly deter Indian applicants from pursuing opportunities in the UK.
